THE INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH REALITIES WHO WE ARE
Sam is the founder and Director of Research for the Institute. He got his start in health as a medical technologist, progressing to a medical reporter and secondary researcher. Although Sam has 50 years experience in studying the realities of health, he is not a doctor, except for an honorary D.Sc. Degree. At IHR Sam has developed a health model that allows medical professionals to approach complex health issues in a logical and systematic way. "The only way to understand chemistry", says Sam, "is to approach it as though the body is made by design, and it is designed to win, not lose. Holding fast to this truism allows a doctor to understand what the body is trying to do. Once understood, then the doctor's role is more like a health facilitator, developing strategies that support the body's effort to gain or retain its health. Otherwise, you spend a lifetime treating symptoms". In addition to organizing all research and the writing of
our Health Realities Journal, Sam gives seminars and consults on individual
health problems. See Sam's biography and curriculum vitae.

Cherie has been a constant, friendly face (and voice) at the Institute for Health Realities for ten years! She has been involved in nearly every position here at the office. Therefore, we can't understand why she doesn't have all the answers. Cherie's life outside the office consists of going on hikes with her daughter, granddaughter Aurora, and the dogs, working out in the garden with her husband, and co-babysitting Aurora. What keeps her going is the love and hope of her faith. She frequently talks about moving to the Florida Keys!?
Debbie
came to IHR as an intern while a obtaining her certification in nutrition from American Health Science University. Debbie
works for IHR part-time doing consultation computer input,
assisting with client questions, scheduling etc. Debbie
has two children and two grandchildren. She
likes to cook, sew, read, garden, and sing in the church choir
where her husband is the Minister of Worship and Praise. She
also helps teach the first grade Sunday School class. She
is excited that she is steadily regaining her health by following
Sam's protocol so that she can help others.
Andrea is a part-time employee, keeping some of the administrative things organized and takes care of the bookkeeping aspects of the business. She helps out in many ways around the office, filling in where needed! Andrea is a member of the Velvet Hills Chorus of Sweet Adelines here in Colorado Springs, and is currently singing with a quartet as their bass, while acting as choreographer for the chorus and financial manager for the Regional Conventions as well as the chorus. Just a hint of her versatility! In addition, Andrea's two grown daughters sing in the chorus with her and are both married. She and her husband enjoy camping and spending time with their families and friends - when they have time!
